Beautiful words from a Garden Club parent
It was a great day at Garden Club! A feast of refreshing snacks roused the children’s enthusiasm at the onset of our gathering. The kiddies indulged in plump sweet mulberries picked that afternoon from a neighborhood tree. It was fun to see them smile with purple stained lips and teeth after they’d eaten the dark purplish-black berries.
They also enjoyed slices of avocado, oranges and apples and quenched their thirst with refreshing cucumber infused water. Next we shucked corn that Oma had picked up fresh from a farm in Zephyrhills. After shucking, we all munched on the uncooked ears - so crispy and delicious! But the last activity was the most sweet as we spent the rest of the afternoon crafting cornhusk dolls from the discarded leafs and silks. The kids were wholly absorbed in the process and had a ton of fun creating little dolls.
